Second Week of School W/E 9/2/17

I had BIG plans to be very productive the second week of school, but alas any time I make plans they fail (LOL) Somehow I keep making them though :) Monday morning we took the third and final kitten to be spayed.  It's nice knowing they are all taken care of now and we don't have to worry about anymore kittens. I have to say that while I'm not sure about having 4 cats now, the experience of watching kittens grow has been AMAZING!! We had a pretty good day with school, but it was a little rushed.  Our middle child was being picked up to go to a dance committee meeting about the fall dance they are going to put together and we had to go back and pick up the kitten.  I think this kitten had the worst time out of all of them. She was actually asleep when I got her and was very lethargic the rest of the evening.

Tuesday we had our 4-H field trip to Lazy 5 Ranch. This might be my favorite field trip ever! You get to ride in a wagon all over their ranch while making multiple stops to feed all the animals. They run after your wagon and stick their heads up on it trying to get food. It's super fun! Here's a few pictures from our trip there.

Even after a busy day I had promised a friend I'd attend her Norwex party.  I was super tired, but so thankful I went. It was great to check out the products and spend time with friends! We were even free pottery :) Here's one of the mugs my friend's husband made and I am IN LOVE with it. It's not too heavy and the handle is just right.  It's honestly the most comfortable mug that I own.  I'm currently drinking everything in it :)

Wednesday we stayed home and tried to have a productive day. I actually cooked, no leftovers that night :) Thursday was another busy day. I know we were not going to do any school this day because we had three different appointments. I didn't want that to happen so close to school starting, but some specialist appointments are hard to reschedule.  I used our driving time for us to be able to enjoy one of our newest review items, Captain Bayley's Heir by Heirloom Audio Productions. I think I might have enjoyed the story more than the kids (LOL) We didn't get it quite finished while out and the next day I hit play as soon as I got in the car to try and finish the story.  I'm hooked I believe :)

Friday was a stay home day. I told myself I didn't want to leave the house for ANY reason.  Of course I ended up going out first thing because one of the outside dogs had broken his lead.  This is the third time this particular dog has done that. He has an amazing skill of twisting it up until it's weak and then it snaps. He happily comes to the front door for us to let him inside.

All in all it was a busy, but somewhat productive week.

  1. It sounds like you had a busy, yet wonderful week (even if you didn't get everything you planned done)! Also, what a fantastic field trip. I really need to plan more trips for the kiddos this year... That is something I Always slack on.

    1. Whenever you make it this way again maybe we can try to go to Lazy 5 :) I think all the kids would enjoy it. We need to do more trips as well. There are several being offered right now, but they don't fit into our schedule :(

    2. Yes! We definitely should make that happen next time we make it down. It is hard to fit trips in.

    3. You are so right. I got up today with a horrible headache. Sat down to have breakfast and check email quickly. Realized I had forgotten we had our 4H meeting for the month and we had to leave in 30 minutes (LOL)
