Spy by Danielle Steel ⭐⭐⭐⭐ There's not much about a Danielle Steel book that I don't love (LOL)
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This might be one of the best books I've EVER read. I loved this book so much I went and requested several more books by this author.
The German House by Annette Hess ⭐⭐ This was a book I ran across after reading The Nightingale and thought it sounded good. This is one of those books I pushed through because I kept hoping it would get better, but it was just a very confusing book to me. The way the characters interacted and the plot I just didn't enjoy it :(
My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell ⭐ This was a book that I read a review written by a friend, but apparently didn't read the review very closely (LOL) There was so much about this book that I disliked. The plot of the story regarding the relationship between the teacher and student bothered me, but not enough to not read the book. It was more what I considered to be very explicit descriptions of the things that went on between them that really bothered me. Lots of the story seemed confusing and unorganized to me, but it was really the more graphic descriptions that I didn't like.
The Whisper Man by Alex North ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really enjoyed this book. This is not an author that I had read before, but he's going on my list now. Really well written book with a plot that I felt I could easily follow.
The Night Before by Wendy Walker ⭐ For me this was another huge disappointing read. I don't recall reading this author before, but I really just didn't like almost the entire book. I understood the psychological aspect of it that the author was giving us and hoping we'd spend the book trying to go back and forth between a few options. It wasn't until probably the last 10 pages, if that, that I actually enjoyed the book :(
Home Front by Kristin Hannah ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If I could have given this book and The Nightingale higher than 5 stars I would have, but I didn't want to act crazy here (LOL) This was a book I found while skimming the library website to see what else Kristin Hannah had written. I read this book in an afternoon/evening and actually stayed up until 1:59 in the morning to finish it. There were times I was literally sobbing because the book touched me so greatly. This was another favorite in my lifetime book.
Great reading month 🖤 I am sorry you were disappointed in some of the books. I really need to read both of Kristin Hannah's books... they sound amazing!
